The much-awaited smartphone, Galaxy Note 7, is now official in a live event which was also viewable in 360-degree by using Gear VR. Note 7 is said to be a major upgrade over Note 5 and has bought plenty of advance features and design enhancements. Note 7 has taken many design aspects and specifications from Galaxy S7 Edge with some special Note series functions, like S-Pen. No wonder that Note 7 has become the best phone available in the market right now leaving behind Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
Galaxy Note 7 has become the first Note to feature IP68, which means it is waterproof up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. The display in Note 7 has been improved, and it has become the first phone to feature HDR support. It has 5.7 inch Super AMOLED screen panel which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Like S7 Edge, it has curved display carrying a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels which is required for optimal viewing in Gear VR.
Design-wise, Note 7 sports a somewhat bigger panel which might be inconvenient for small handed people as compared to S7 Edge which feels much handier. This difference is general because of the larger screen and S-Pen. Note 7 has also become the first Samsung smartphone that is equipped with an Iris scanner along with USB Type-C port. Like S7 Edge, Note 7 is also available in two variants, i.e. one with Snapdragon SoC while other with Exynos.
According to an official statement, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 will only be available in the USA while rest of the world will be blessed with Exynos 8890. Earlier reports confirmed that Exynos variant of S7 Edge is more battery friendly as compared to Snapdragon version. Talking about the battery, Note 7 has somewhat smaller battery than S7 Edge. Note 7 is fueled by 3500 mAh battery as compared to 3600 mAh battery in S7 Edge.
Galaxy Note 7 has 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard memory with support for microSD card up to 256GB. Again the camera in Note 7 has been borrowed from S7 Edge, which means it has a powerful 12MP primary camera with OIS and a 5MP front camera. As far as software is concerned, it runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI over the top, though it will soon be soon be upgraded to Android 7.0.
